The Centre does not maintain regular drop-in opening hours. Please contact us before visiting unless you are attending a scheduled gathering.

By tram

Route 12
Travel from Collins Street to Stop 135 near Middle Park Primary School, then walk along Richardson Street.

Route 96
Travel from Bourke Street to Stop 129 at Melbourne Sports and Aquatic Centre, then walk along Wright Street towards Richardson Street.

By car

Limited street parking is available in the surrounding area. Please check the parking signs carefully, as restrictions vary.

Where gatherings are held

In-person gatherings may be held in different spaces within the Carmelite precinct, including:

  • the Carmelite Library;

  • the Malone Room in Carmelite Hall;

  • the O’Connor and Pilkington Rooms; and

  • Our Lady of Mount Carmel Church.

Please check the individual program or event information for the correct meeting place before arriving.

Joining online

Many Carmelite Centre gatherings are also offered online via Zoom.

Registration information will indicate whether a gathering is online, in person or offered in both formats. Where registration is required, the Zoom link will be included in your confirmation or registration email.

Carmelite Library

The Carmelite Library is located at the same Richardson Street address and is normally open on Tuesdays from 10.00am to 3.00pm.

Library opening arrangements may change during holiday periods. Please check the Carmelite Library website before making a special journey.
