Kyrie eleison is the repetitive silent prayer we carry within. It wafts with the breezes across field grasses and drips from the leaves of eucalypts. It is our built in freedom from emptiness and despair. It enables the possibility of renewed freedom space. A place to open oursevles to action, forgiveness and worship.
The terror attacks of 9/11 in New York, prior attacks and subsequent attacks shake up our world and call for varied responses. Michael Galovic's artwork is one such response. "The concept was the juxtaposition of graphic images of destruction with the solemn and refined beauty of medieval icons and frescoes..."
The Kyrie Eleison exhibition can be viewed at The Chapel, Australian Centre for Christianity and Culture, 15 Blackall Street, Barton ACT between 12 - 20 March.
