Welcome, Fr Christian!

We warmly welcome Fr Christian Marave to our Province. Fr Christian is a member of the Philippines Province of Carmelites and is on loan to us for the next few years. He will be part of our community and parish at Wentworthville (NSW).

Fr Christian was ordained in 2020 and has served as national vocations director for the Carmelites and a member of the Initial Formation Commission and Commission for Youth and Children in the Philippines.

Fr Christian celebrates his birthday on Christmas Day. Welcome, Christian, and Happy Birthday!

Carmelite Rule

A rule of life was given to the early Carmelites by St Albert Avogadro, Patriach of Jerusalem between the years 1206 - 1214. It was finally approved by Pope Innocent in 1247 and later underwent mitigations which were not in the original text.

The Carmelite Rule states that is basic for a Carmelite to "live a life of allegiance to Jesus Christ - how, pure in heart and stout in conscience, he must be unswerving in the service of his Master" [no.2].
