After five months the Carmelite Library is once again open to the public.

The story of Jesus’ first day of ministry in Capernaum continues in the Gospel for this Sunday.

The Carmelite Centre is again offering a broad range of programs to support your spiritual journey.

The Carmelites have restarted their Vocation Accompaniment program in Timor-Leste.

The Carmelite Library is reopening to the public on Tuesday 6 February.

You can download and save the scripture texts, reflections and prayers for Lectio Divina for each day of this month. Lectio Divina is a traditional way of praying the Scriptures. Visit our Lectio Divina page for more information about how to pray using Lectio Divina. Join our Lectio Online group. We meet every Friday at 10am (Australian Eastern Daylight Time) [You are welcome to join from other time zones, eg. Perth/Singapore/Philippines: 7am; Timor-Leste/Tokyo: 8am; New Zealand: 12pm; Los Angeles: Thursday 4pm; New York/Toronto: Thursday 7pm] to prayerfully reflect on the Gospel of the coming Sunday. We will resume Lectio Online on Friday 2 February 2024.

For the past several months the Carmelites have been celebrating Mass and the Sacraments for the people in Guisarudo, Timor-Leste.

Following directly from the call of the first four disciples in last week’s Gospel, this week we are plunged into the ministry of Jesus.

On 7 January Fr Bruce Clark (Prior Provincial) admitted 9 young Carmelites in Timor-Leste to the ministries of Lector (Reader) and Acolyte (Server).

The Gospel today begins with the foundational cry of Jesus’ ministry.
