These can appear as closed accordions beneath the main copy:

What happens during a session?
You are invited to speak about whatever is important in your spiritual life. The director listens attentively and may offer questions, reflections or periods of silence.

Is spiritual direction counselling?
No. Spiritual direction focuses on your spiritual journey and relationship with God. It is not counselling or a substitute for professional mental-health care, although the two may sometimes support a person alongside one another.

How often do people meet?
Many people meet with their director every four to six weeks, but the frequency is agreed between you and your director.

Are conversations confidential?
Spiritual direction is offered in a respectful and confidential setting, subject to professional, legal and safeguarding responsibilities.

Do I need to be Catholic or Carmelite?
No. People from different backgrounds and stages of faith are welcome.
