'The Crocodile and the Kangaroo' is the story of the relationship between Timor-Leste and Australia written by Br Agedo Bento, OCarm. The story is told by the Crocodile (national symbol of Timor-Leste) and the Kangaroo (national symbol of Australia). It focusses on the negotiations between Timor-Leste and Australia over a just share of oil and gas reserves in the Timor Sea.

A small step today – the gift of a lifetime tomorrow.

Our donors share the same belief - to make a real and positive difference to people’s lives, whether they are in Australia or Timor-Leste. One such donor is still giving in support of our work today, even though she is no longer with us, Angela Robson chose to make the ultimate gift to the Carmelites - a gift in her Will.

In 2014, the Carmelites were named as one of the beneficiaries in Angela’s Will. For many people like Angela, leaving a gift in their Will is a chance to give more than they could imagine during their lifetime, and to express deeply-held values in a lasting way. We give thanks to Angela and the Robson estate for their gift.

Leaving a gift in your Will to the Carmelites is life changing and helps to secure our ministries into the future. More importantly, it ensures that people in need are given the gift of hope to reach their potential and transform their lives.

If you are interested in leaving a gift in your Will to The Carmelites or would like to learn more please contact Nancy Mercurio on 03 9690 8822 or email This email address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it..

It will help us guide and mentor disadvantaged youth so they get back on their feet and become productive members of our society once again. And it can provide comfort to people in their final hours by visiting them in their homes, hospitals or hospices.
