The Commissariat of St Joseph of the Province of St Elias in North America announced the election of its new leadership during the 3rd Commissariat Chapter. The meeting was held at the Vinh Phuc Retreat House in Ho Chi Minh City, Vietnam, from 24–28November 2025. 

The Commissariat of St Joseph was officially established during the Chapter of the Province of St Elias in 2019. Today, it is home to 60 members across Vietnam and comprises six communities actively serving in three dioceses as well as in the United States.

The Chapter began on the morning of 25 November with the Mass of the Holy Spirit, opening the working process in a spirit of prayer and discernment. Immediately after, the Chapter members entered the first session with a welcome, opening prayer, roll call, dissemination and voting in approval of the working program. The highlight of the morning session was the speech of Brother Robert Chiulli (Prior Provincial) in which he expressed joy at the development of the Carmelite Order in Vietnam and emphasized the bond of communion between the two regions of the United States and Vietnam. At the same time, he invited the brothers to be steadfast in their Carmelite identity through discernment of mission, living with financial transparency, being prudent in pastoral relationships, and focusing on formation - vocation - life of communion in the spirit of contemplation, brotherhood and prophecy.

On the second day of the Chapter meeting, 26 November, Father Gioan Baotixita Nguyen Minh Hao and Father Giuse Tran Si Nghi, SJ were two guests who shared with the brothers of the Order the necessary knowledge useful for pastoral work and religious life.

At the end of the morning of 27 November, which was also the third working day of the Chapter, the members officially elected the new leadership for the Commissariat for the 2025-2028 term. The following were elected: Father Joseph Dinh Van Diep, O.Carm., (Commissary Provincial), Father Joseph Phan Quang Tri, O.Carm., (First Councillor) and Father Phaolo Tran Van Hung, O.Carm., (Second Councillor). 

We wish these brothers well in their new ministry for the Commissariat.
